Terms of Service
Effective August 13, 2026
These Terms govern your access to the BackRig website, desktop software, subscriptions, licensing, backup reporting, and related services. By creating an account, purchasing a plan, or using BackRig, you accept these Terms.
1. Service description
BackRig helps users create Microsoft SQL Server backups and transfer them to destinations selected and configured by the user, including local folders, FTP servers, and supported cloud storage. Features, retention, database limits, and device limits depend on the active plan.
2. Your responsibilities
- You must have authority to access and back up every database and destination you configure.
- You are responsible for credentials, encryption choices, storage capacity, network access, schedules, and regulatory compliance.
- You must routinely inspect logs and independently test that backups can be restored.
- You must keep your account and license credentials secure and may not misuse, reverse-engineer, resell, or disrupt the service.
3. Backups and third-party services
BackRig is an automation tool, not a guarantee against data loss. Successful job status does not replace restoration testing. Cloud, FTP, database, internet, operating-system, and payment services are operated by third parties and may fail, change, or become unavailable.
4. Plans and payments
Paid features require an active plan. Prices, included limits, and billing periods are shown before checkout. Payments are processed by the displayed payment provider. You authorize the stated charge when completing checkout. Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy and mandatory local law.
5. Availability and changes
We may maintain, modify, suspend, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for security, reliability, legal compliance, or product operation. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability.
6. No warranty
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BackRig is provided “as is†and “as available,†without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, or successful backup and restoration.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BackRig and its owner will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages; loss or corruption of data; failed restoration; lost profits; business interruption; credential compromise; or failures of third-party services. Where liability cannot legally be excluded, total liability will not exceed the amount you paid to BackRig during the three months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
8. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or terminate access for abuse, fraud, non-payment, security risks, unlawful use, or material breach. You may stop using the service at any time; ending use does not automatically create a refund right.
9. Mandatory rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
10. Contact
Questions and legal notices may be submitted through the internal support page.
