Privacy Policy
Effective August 13, 2026
This policy explains how BackRig handles information when you use its website, accounts, subscriptions, desktop software, and support system.
Information we collect
- Account data such as username, email address, password hash, verification status, and account settings.
- Subscription, payment reference, plan, invoice, and transaction-status information. Full card credentials are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by BackRig.
- Device and license information such as device identifiers, application version, binding status, and last activity.
- Backup metadata such as database or job identifiers, times, result, file size, destination type, and error messages.
- Support tickets, replies, security logs, IP address, browser information, and audit records.
Database and backup contents
BackRig is designed to transfer backups to destinations you control. The website does not intentionally collect or inspect the contents of your databases or backup files. Backup files remain subject to the destination, credentials, and permissions you configure.
How information is used
We use information to authenticate users, operate licensing and subscriptions, process and reconcile payments, show backup history, provide support, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations.
Third parties
Information may be processed by providers you choose or that are necessary to operate the service, such as PayPal, hosting infrastructure, Google Drive, or FTP/storage providers. Their own privacy terms apply. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and security
We retain records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and meet accounting or legal obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system or transmission is completely secure.
Your choices
You may request access, correction, or deletion of eligible account information through the internal support page. Some transaction, security, and legal records may need to be retained. You can revoke third-party authorization from that provider and stop using the software.
Policy updates
We may update this policy as the service or applicable requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
